We all know how quickly family and friends can be taken out of our lives. This was a day I reflect back and feel so grateful for my family and friends. The heartache I see others suffer reminds me how I need to embrace everyone and everything around me that much more.

Last night my husband was visiting a friend who was recently involved in a horrible bike accident. It is a true miracle that he and the other bikers involved are alive. Our friend made a comment that when he crashed he felt a calm feeling that, if he was to die, he would be okay. I immediately asked myself: "would I feel that sense of peace being so close to death.?" Of course his wife replied back,"Great! Glad you felt okay to leave this life, but what about your wife and kids and newborn baby left fatherless!?"

I definetely need to work harder on being the best possible person I can be, whether it be a wife, mom, friend, teacher, neighboor, so that when that day comes, I too will have sense of peace and not fear or regret for everything I didn't do with my life.

Will Miss you Latham Family.....

Our Dear friends, the Latham family take off for St. Johns, AZ this Friday, it's hard for me to except, but it's the best opportunity for their family right now. You guys have been nothing less than a blessing in our family's life, and I'm so excited to see how many other lives you touch. Get ready Shannon, because once snow season comes, here we come.

The Cut

Cash, we thought a little less hair might slow you down, but as today turned out you didn't miss a beat. I miss your curls but with my three man team I was able to give you a real haircut. It's time for a new chapter little man.

Grandma Love

Everyone needs a cool refreshing Root beer float to get them through these summer days.

Innocent? Never!

*A Rundown of Cash and His Few Minor Crimes in the Past Week:

1. Crashed my Mom's computer for the 2nd time in less than a year!

2. Killed one of the boys' pregnant lizards by throwing a large rock on top of its head while his horrified older brother (Lincoln) watched. (Rest in peace little creature) The worst part was Lincoln having to explain the whole incident to his more horrified and shocked friends who were also there.

3. Screams, Screams, SCREAMS! (still ringing in my ears when I lay down to sleep)

4. Repeated acts of magic marker graffiti on custom cabinetry

We all adore Cash more than anything, I'm so blessed to have this child, and he has made me more humble than I thought I could ever become. But I need to extend heartfelt apologies AGAIN and AGAIN to my poor parents, Rissa, the neighbors, the kids in nursery, the Mesa Police Dept., and any other innocent bystanders throughout the universe where Cash has left a swath. Cross your fingers that we win the bid we placed on a home today! (it has a cage for a dog in the backyard that we might convert into something for someone more special)

Little Prep Boys off to Hermosa Vista

Yep, this last photo pretty much sums up the excitement of Noah and Lincoln on their first day. I know they were excited, but it's not cool to show your complete emotion like their mother. Love you guys, and I love having twin. Their is nothing more comforting knowing you guys are side by side each year. Always with their best buddy. Every kid deserves a twin on their first day of school, it's a built in confidence, you can get through anything. Where was my darn twin all through school.

Cash had a really hard time letting the boys leave for school. Stuck! Yes with boring mom all day. What will Cash ever do when we move and he doesn't have grandma to play with. Noah insisted on waking up Cash before they left to catch the bus, because he knew he would miss them terribly. Now who knows if those are tears of sadness or just plain crankiness.

Roman brought Shayley to AZ for the first time. They timed it perfect, surprisingly the weather was pretty nice. She also loves the heat, so I guess she was in the right place. Of course we had to show her what the front lawn was all about. That defines the Madsen clan.
